Meet Matthew Wood
Matthew Wood is a working-class American, an independent thinker, and a passionate advocate for people over politics. Currently working as a bus driver and independent contractor, Matthew is running as an Independent candidate for U.S. Senate to bring honesty, accountability, and common sense back to government.
Born with a strong sense of discipline and perseverance, Matthew has spent much of his life studying and teaching martial arts. As an instructor in multiple disciplines, he has helped students of all ages build confidence, focus, and resilience —qualities he believes are just as essential in public service as they are in self-defense.
Matthew also studied psychology in college, where he developed a deeper understanding of human behavior, communication, and the importance of mental health. These insights have shaped his approach to leadership, which is grounded in empathy, driven by facts, and focused on listening before acting.
Matthew has never been interested in climbing a political ladder or playing party games. Instead, he’s running for Senate because he believes everyday Americans deserve a voice that isn’t bought, pressured, or silenced by party lines. He has seen firsthand how those in power overlook working people, and he’s committed to representing their voices with integrity.
Matthew values people more than profits, political affiliations, or empty promises.
He believes real change starts with listening.
